Stratford Food Festival in Photos

Last weekend was the Stratford Food Festival. Whenever I’m at any event I take an extraordinary amount of photos, and find it hard to choose the ones to put in my blog posts, so for this post I’m going to do less talking/writing and more pictures!

We went along on the Sunday* and had a fab few hours, the demo tents were packed, especially to see the baking legend Paul Hollywood, and the stalls were busy and bustling with people eager to get a look and a sample of the great produce on offer. We came away with some great stuff including bread, cheese, fudge, meat and more as well as having our fair share of food from the stalls cooking up a storm. Below are some pics of the event, some of our favourite producers and more!

Croome Cuisine Cheese

Croome Cuisine Cheese – we bought the Worcestershire Sauce & Shallot one – delicious!

Bellota Meats

Bellota Meats – their cooking chorizo is the best I’ve tasted – can’t get that in a supermarket!

Tom’s Fudge – One of the best

Toms Fudge

Tom’s fudge – cookies and cream and sticky toffee

The Posh Pork Pie Company

Pork Pies

We bought a couple of theses – amazing toppings makes a  pork pie so much more interesting!

A view over the racecourse

The demo tent

Just before Paul Hollywood’s demo

We tried a couple of these tasty ciders – pheasant plucker was my favourite!

I could have tried some of all of them, I love cider. But I was driving so just a couple of halves for me.

We filled up on these

The paellas looked fabulous

Las Paelleras – great food

Patatas Bravas – so lovely.

The Patatas Bravas from Las Paelleras were stunning – really warmed you up on a cold windy day. The tomato sauce had a chilli kick and a squirt of aoili really made the dish.

We didn’t try one of these, but they looked really lovely – Cheesecake Charlie

Bustling inside the tents

Fuffle – fudge or truffle? Delicious whatever it was.

Some really vibrant flavoured rapeseed oils and others from Stainswick farm

Great Juices from Shack Revolution

Game galore

There was plenty of game on show – grouse, guinea fowl, pigeon.

Squirrel?! thats a new one for me!

I even tried a morsel of these squirrel sausages – strangely appealing!!

Bread from Swifts Bakery

We picked up one of these Chilli, Lime and Coriander Loaves

The bread from Swift Bakery was great – really original flavours and a great crumb and crust on them.

A Macaron Rainbow

So many macarons to choose from, we picked a few to take home. The salted caramel was brilliant.

Tan Rosie produce

Tan Rosie

Another of my favourite local producers – Tan Rosie. Their cayenne spiced plantain chips are to die for, and we also picked up a sweet tamarind sauce.

Stratford Food Festival was great fun and a great success. Whether your a foodie or not, there’s something for everyone, so come along in 2014!

Disclosure: Our tickets were provided free of charge, but all thoughts and opinions are our own.
