After hearing about #FoodiePenpals from lovely fellow blogger Emily I had to follow her lead and sign up. Every month, you receive a email matching you with two people – one that you get to make up a foodie box for, and another that is going to send one to you. The idea is you interact with these people and then make up a box especially for them based on what they like, or things that you love or are local to you. The idea is awesome and so far I’m loving it. You then blog about what you receive and release it on the last Friday of the month. Theres a £10 limit on what you put in the box, and we get paired up across all of the UK and Europe!
This month I was making a box for Kate from randommusingsofaberkshirebint.blogspot.co.uk and I was receiving one from Pippa, who works in Food and Drink PR (what a job!)
Here is what Pippa sent me:
- some fab cheese and Italian sausage from the Deli next door to her offices – I’m having those for dinner tonight!
- Tyrells chilli crackers and apple crisps
- Fruitibroo Rhubarb apple and cinnamon hot drink – I can’t wait to try this!
- Amish Rainbow Popcorn
- a mini smarties easter chocolate
- Franks original Hot Sauce ( a firm favourite of mine how did she know?!)
I can’t wait to get stuck in to all of these, a really fabulous box so thanks Pippa.
Here’s a quick peak about what I sent to Kate;
Theres some local chutney perfect for cheese, some honey from our recent trip to Scotland, a selection of teas – Clipper one of my favourite brands, some Za’qtar, a current favrouite spice of mine, olive tapenade and Just crisps – a local brand to me in Staffordshire. There was also a recipe card with a suggesting for using the Za’atar.
I loved this month and can’t wait to see what the next one brings
