This Summer, an exciting new food extravaganza – the Foodies Festival – is coming to town! Over the weekend of the 15th-17th of May, The Foodies Festival originally set up in 2005 in Scotland, is taking over Canon Hill Park for a food festival of epic proportions! To date, Foodies has welcomed over 2 million visitors, helped launch hundreds of new businesses and supported thousands of small producers – it promises to be a fantastic day out for the food lover and all the family.
Birmingham’s Michelin-star and top chefs will be taking the stage in the new tasting theatres, pop-up restaurants and there will more street food than you can ‘shake a satay stick at!’
The Cake & Bake Theatre will be a must visit for those amateur bakers – visitors can enjoy 3D cake modelling, Chocolate Making Sugar-Craft masterclasses and buy all those essentials in the Chocolate, Cake and Bake Village.
I must say that I’m really looking forward to the Street Food Avenue – offering a huge selection of hot and cold dishes from around the world. Japanese, Thai, Brazilian, Argentinian, Indian, Mexican, French and African are just some of the cuisines visitors can tuck into!
And as if all this wasn’t already enough to keep you going, you can visit over 200 exhibitors in the Artisan Producers Market, where you can meet the producers and sample and buy award winning cheeses, wines, bakes and condiments to take home and enjoy.
All this information and more including how to get tickets is on the Foodies Festival Website. There are single day passes, weekend passes and VIP passes available, and all children aged 12 and under go free to all Foodies Festivals when accompanied by an adult.
